Spring Colour Inspiration

On a dank and dismal day - what better than a splash of colour to brighten the mood?

I know we've all got oodles of fabric in our stash, but why not throw a little inspiration out there...... you never know, you may have just these colours in your collection. If not? Oh well..... another feeble excuse to add a bit more.

I'm thinking spring colours; fresh and bright. I absolutely adore these colour combos - what do you think?

Let's start off with a little spring lamb. Loving the blue and green combo. Very natural and muted.

Lying in the sunshine - a beautiful cat, producing a wonderfully soft and gentle colourway.

A new leaf in sunlight - gorgeous - zingy, fresh and smiley feelgood

The colours of nature - peaceful and serene.

Okay - bugger all to do with spring - but I love it!

This combo is delicious in every way, but not quite my favourite....

This one! All my favourite colours together. Add white for contrast and this is my dream combo.

I'm rather addicted to these pretty pictures. They are little art pieces in their own right, and a wonderful source of inspiration - as you can see from the photo that the colours work so well together.

Autumn Giveaway Time

I'm more than a trifle ticked off with Blogger. My post of yesterday has vanished into thin air during the day - and I haven't been near a computer. It was the first time I'd entered a post using the new interface, and I was liking the way it worked. Shame I didn't try a short post first, but no...... dibble decided to do a long article didn't she! Sniff. Back to the old Blogger me thinks. Anyways... I was thinking that it's been such a dismal few days - why not think of something to brighten the mood. Why not have a little giveaway? Valentine Kisses

It's not long to February 14th now - so today I am sharing some vintage Valentine graphics. Hexagon hand-towel

A super quick make this afternoon - a hand towel for the kitchen. I had no idea I was going to do this until I was rummaging through my fabric stash and found this piece of heavy linen that has been forgotten for years. It's the perfect weight for a hand towel and I've managed to use up a few more scraps to match the colours of my kitchen. The little piece of aqua fabric is one of my favourites. Had it for years and my supply has been dwindling, finally down to the last little piece. It was a quick pin-down and run along with the machine. As you can see, a close inspection of my hexagon shows rather uneven stitches. I blame it on my eyesight (and sewing whilst watching the TV). Pinned into place and then edged around carefully with the machine. I've even managed to add a little loop which is the tiniest scrap of ribbon I spied in the corner of my sewing table just as I was stitching to the corner.... I'll have that...
