Spring Colour Inspiration

On a dank and dismal day - what better than a splash of colour to brighten the mood?

I know we've all got oodles of fabric in our stash, but why not throw a little inspiration out there...... you never know, you may have just these colours in your collection.  If not?  Oh well..... another feeble excuse to add a bit more.

I'm thinking spring colours; fresh and bright.  I absolutely adore these colour combos - what do you think?

Let's start off with a little spring lamb.  Loving the blue and green combo.  Very natural and muted.

Lying in the sunshine - a beautiful cat, producing a wonderfully soft and gentle colourway.

A new leaf in sunlight - gorgeous - zingy, fresh and smiley feelgood

The colours of nature - peaceful and serene.

Okay - bugger all to do with spring - but I love it!

This combo is delicious in every way, but not quite my favourite....

drumroll......

It's this, This, THIS!

This one!  All my favourite colours together.  Add white for contrast and this is my dream combo.

Source - All found on Pinterest and stored in my Perfect Pallete board.  The majority of the pictures originate from Design Seeds , with the exception of the latter - which is from Photo Card Boutique
I'm rather addicted to these pretty pictures.  They are little art pieces in their own right, and a wonderful source of inspiration - as you can see from the photo that the colours work so well together.

What are your favourite colour combos?

Autumn Giveaway Time

I'm more than a trifle ticked off with Blogger. My post of yesterday has vanished into thin air during the day - and I haven't been near a computer. It was the first time I'd entered a post using the new interface, and I was liking the way it worked. Shame I didn't try a short post first, but no...... dibble decided to do a long article didn't she! Sniff. Back to the old Blogger me thinks. Anyways... I was thinking that it's been such a dismal few days - why not think of something to brighten the mood. Why not have a little giveaway? Trying to be a little different - I've come up with a little competition. It's quite simple....... How many buttons in the jar? I've no idea myself, so it will be interesting to find out. To give you something on which to base your guess, I can tell you I am able to hold the little jar comfortably in one hand. Also I have used a few of the buttons so the jar isn't quite full. So.... What do y...

Don't get Shirty!

My blog posts have been lacking the last few weeks.  This is due to moving home and trying to sort out the chaos.  One of the things required was that hubby thin down his clothing, or there would be no room for any of mine in the fitted wardrobes.  At the last count he had well over a hundred shirts.  Ridiculous.  Under strict instructions to free up half the wardrobe space for me, he set to with bin bags, to turf some out for the charity shops. With a large selection of shirts ousted, I started looking at the fabrics and wondered if I could make use of them myself.  There's a surprising amount of fabric in a mans shirt, particularly an XL one. After cherry picking the ones that were all cotton and nice fabrics, I sat down and scratched my head for inspiration. My first of two makes is this pillow.  When I began I had no real vision of what it was going to look like.  I just knew that I wanted to use some of the front pockets, and make a...

Button Up

I have a bit of a thing about buttons.  Memories of childhood and rooting through my Gran's button tin. Sadly I've now used most of the vintage ones that belonged to my mother and grandmother - but the fascination still remains. So I thought today I'd have a button day, and share some of the latest lovely makes I've discovered.   by Amanda Meadon on Folksy How charming is this little picture?  Simple, colourful and quite pretty by Saphire Moon on Crafster  Not sure what these are... cuffs?  Loving the way the colours blend What a fabulous necklace.  The colours!  And some of those buttons are amazing.  Found this on Pinterest, but sadly there is no link. by Mike Smith on Folksy  A fabulous piece of button art.  What a fantastic idea from Homedit.com     A little bit in love with this lampshade - and so easy too!
